City of Portsmouth Scouts

Portsmouth Scouts has a vision that Scouting across our District will become "digital first". Being "digitalFirst" means moving away from traditional paper based records, moving away from cash, enabling online payments and embracing collaboration and other time saving tools commonly used in businesses across the world. Portsmouth Scouts believes this will free volunteers from many of the admin burdens associated with being part of Scouting.

Our required and recommended apps and tools

Portsmouth Scouts knows and trusts these key applications/tools to support Scouts in our District. OSM, My Membership and Google Mail for Scout emails are required to be used by all Groups.

All Groups in Portsmouth already make use of OSM. Portsmouth Scouts actively supports the adoption of OSM through the provision of Gold Subscription to all Sections, without charge. Guidance and support is provided to help Groups get the most of the timesaving features of OSM.

Facebook is optional but strongly recommended as it offers extensive, easy to use features of value to most Groups.

Staying Safe Online

Keeping everyone safe is the number one concern for all of us at the Scouts. That’s why we all need to continue to follow the Code of Behaviour set out in the Yellow Card when connecting with anyone online. Find out more on the Scouts Digital Safeguarding pages.
