There are lots of easy ways to access you Google mail account whether at home, at work or on the move.
The time you give volunteering is precious. With Google mail you can use your time for Scouting when and where it works for you.
Any web browser — Go to mail.google.com →
Most Google pages — In the upper right, click the App Launcher (9 dot icon) and choose Gmail.
Android devices — Install and open the Android app →
Apple iOS devices — Install and open the iOS app →.
Send an email: At the bottom of the compose window, click Send.
Undo send: After sending an email, at the bottom left, click Undo.
Change the send cancellation period:
At the top right, click Settings cog/gear icon and then See all settings.
In the General tab, scroll to the Undo Send section and choose a time.
IMPORTANT: At the bottom, click Save changes.
At the top right, click Settings cog/gear icon and then See all settings.
Scroll down to the Desktop notifications section.
Click Click here to enable desktop notifications for <your organization>.
Select New mail notifications on or Important mail notifications on.
IMPORTANT: At the bottom of the page, click Save Changes.
Archive messages you're not using now but might need later. Archiving moves email out of your inbox. You can find them later in All Mail or through Gmail search.
Delete messages you no longer need. Deleted email are moved to Trash and then permanently deleted after 30 days.
Note: If you don’t see All Mail or Trash, scroll to the bottom of the left sidebar and click More.
Your email signature can include your name, role and contact information. You can also create multiple signatures.
Sign in to your Google Workspace account Google Workspace User Hub →
In the upper right, click the App Launcher (9 dot icon) and choose Gmail.
At the top right, click Settings cog/gear icon and then See all settings.
In the General tab, scroll to Signature and click Create new.
Name your signature, then click Create.
This name is not your actual signature, but is a name for the signature template.
In the Signature section, add the text of your signature to the box. If you want to, you can format your message by adding an image or changing the text style. See the recommended signature styles below.
Set the Signature defaults. In most cases you will only need one signature, so both 'FOR NEW EMAILS USE' and 'ON REPLY/FORWARD USE' would have the same signature selected.
IMPORTANT: At the bottom of the page, click Save changes.

Web link can be to UK Scouts (scouts.org.uk); to Portsmouth Scouts (portsmouthscouts.org.uk); or a local Scouts Group.
Social media link can be to a public social media identity that your District / Group / Section maintain.

Use an appropriate linear format logo.
The simple Scouts linear purple logo is available to the right.
You can create bespoke logos, free of charge, at the Scouts Brand Centre.
Right click & 'save as' to download.
