Use these instructions to configure OSM to provide a Calendar Feed parents and leaders can access and have your programme automatically show (read-only) in their preferred Calendar software. Steps 1 and 2 must be completed by a leader with suitable OSM access permissions. Steps 3 and 4 can be performed by anyone who can access the OSM Programme or OSM Event features of Parent Portal (normal OSM Parent or Leader sign-in required).
To enable calendar access, ensure the SHOW CALENDAR FEED? option is YES (on).
We recommend sections use the default values shown here. This is a one-time change and can be performed by a Leader with suitable access permission.

You can go to OSM for the Section you want to access the Calendar Feed for. You can do this as a parent (invited to join Parent Portal) or as a Leader (with access granted in settings).
If signed in as a parent [recommended]: Click CALENDAR FEED and then "Copy to Clipboard" to save the link.
If signed in as a leader: you may need to generate a link before proceeding as for a parent.

Most email/calendar software allows users to subscribe to other calendars. The information here is specific to Google Mail/Calendar provided by Portsmouth Scouts - check with your service provider if you use a different platform.
Open calendar.google.com and sign in using your @portsmouthscouts.org.uk ID.
Find the Other Calendars section (left navigator on computer browsers) and click + to add a new calendar. Select Subscribe to Calendar.
Select Add from URL and paste the Calendar Feed URL into the space provided. Click Add Calendar.
Google should confirm it is gathering calendar entries in the background. It can take several minutes to sync data - be patient. Go ahead and return to the Calendar view and you should see Programme entries for the selected Section.
